Whitsundays Schoolies 2008 - Airlie Beach Schoolies

In 2007, Airlie Beach schoolies accommodation sold out very early in the year and around 2,200 people celebrated schoolies at Airlie Beach, making the Whitsundays the second most popular destination in Queensland, second only to the Gold Coast.

Here is the run down on a previous year's activities so you have a picture of what 2008 Whitsundays Schoolies will be like:

Activities & Events Schedule

Every Day (19th to 26th)

Late night movies - Airlie Beach Lagoon (north-east corner) at the end of every night during schoolies week (bring a mat). Free bus leaves the lagoon car park each night for Jubilee Pocket and Cannonvale.

Touristy Stuff available on various days

• Whitsunday Trike Tours - half hour tour $20.00 per person for 3 people or $25.00 per person for 2 people. Book at Airlie Beach Water Sports, Broadwater Avenue (Lagoon car park) or phone 0400 953 338.
• Outdoor Laser Skirmish - $40 per person includes free pick up from Lagoon Car Park and 2 hrs of games. Available Monday, Wednesday and Friday: phone (07) 4946 1020 to book.
• Awesome Foursome - check out the Whitsunday Islands from helicopter, go tandem parasailing, quad bike bush adventuring and tandem jet skiing-all in one day. Costs $169.00 (Pick-ups included). To book phone (07) 4946 4582
• Island Discovery Pass - Visit Long Island, Daydrem Island and Hamilton Island. $30 each, leaves from Shute Harbour at 8:30am and return 5:15pm.
• Great Barrier Reef - Cruise to Reefworld, leaves from Shute Harbour at 8am and return 5:15pm, costs $55 each (includes lunch)
• Whitehaven Beach 2 Island cruise - Visit Hamilton Island and Whitehaven Beach. Leaves Shute Harbour at 9:40am and return 5:15pm, $45 per student (includes lunch).
• Horse trail ride - 1 hour for $59 per person includes free pick up from Lagoon Car Park and one hour horse trail ride. Phone (07) 4946 1020.
